Design Your Own Games
There is a lot of forethought and planning that goes into designing games. Even mobile games, in the past, were very complicated to design and were very limiting. There was not much that could be done with them other than basic moves or simple tasks. Times have changed though with the Google Android platform. Now games are easier to design than ever before. In fact, thanks to Vladimir Silva’s book “Pro Android Games,” you can design your very own game. Will it be easy? For some it will be but if you take the time to learn the details in the book, you too can design your own action packed game.
With Pro Android Games you can build the games you want to play. You are working off the Google Android program which, in reality, is quite an easy platform to build from. So if you can work your way through the book and be willing to invest some time in the project, you can build the game you want. The key is learning slowly as you go.
You may be a bit intimidated by the thought of trying to develop your own game. After all, many people spend years developing gaming software. But this book targets developers and those interested in mobile gaming. It is basically a “How To” book that will let you begin with basic programming and work up from there.
If you can get through the technical aspects of the book, which are still simple enough for the basic techie to understand, you can create a Java-based Space Blaster game or any Android game. But the benefits of the book do not stop there. You can also learn how to port free games or shareware games over onto the platform for your own playing. That means if you like classics such as Doom or Wolfenstein, you can port them over and be playing them on your mobile device or your netbook.

There is a lot of information to tackle and it is going to be frustrating at first but if you take your time, you can get through it. You may need to re-read some areas to get a firm grasp on developing your game but you will eventually master it and be creating games for you and your friends to enjoy for years to come.
